description:
This volume contains some interesting Berea lore, including the Mulberry Trees, the Mounting Block, The "Castle", The "Hangout", and Phelps-Stokes Chapel, (see p. 67, 128-154). This year the Juniors are listed under their departments in the Upper Division. One of the specialized music groups this year was the Bach Cantata. The Union Church Choir was highlighted in the Organization section. The Medical Club and Y-Teens were created this year. The Academy gained two exchange students in this year: Alexander Chalmers from Nueva Gerona, Cuba, and Josephine Wittig from Guatemala City, Guatemala. Three deaths in the Foundation School are highlighted; Bob Capps on page 120, and Lee and Wanda Brashear on page 121. The first index for the Chimes is offered in this issue on pages 160 to 165.
