Transcript: THIS BUILDING IS A MEMORIAL TO J. A. R. ROGERS 1828 1906 THE FIRST PRINCIPAL OF BEREA COLLEGE AND IS THE GIFT OF HIS SON J. R. ROGERS, INVENTOR, ALUMNUS OF BEREA COLLEGE AND TRUSTEE FOR THIRTY EIGHT YEARS UNTIL HIS DEATH IN 1934. A SON HAS SOUGHT TO KEEP IN REMEMBRANCE A FATHER'S DEVOTION TO THE FINE ARTS AS AN INSTRUMENT OF CHRISTAIN CULTURE. THE DEDICATION OF THIS BUILDING OCCURED APRIL 26, 1935.
