description:
This issue of The Chimes is dedicated to Julian Huntley Capps. Dr. Alvin M. Weinberg, the Director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, lectured on atomic reactions. The International students in the Senior class this year were: Fereshteh Beijan from Tehran, Iran, Eric John Brown from Clacton-on-the-Sea, England, and Chong Bin Kim from Seoul, Korea. The clubs added this year are: the Christian Vocations Group, the German Newspaper, the SNEA, and the Young Democrats. There is a photo showing Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ward Seabury turning over the first shovel of dirt for the creation of Seabury Hall, the new woman's dorm. There is also a section on the Leadership Training Conference. The Log House is mentioned just prior to a section showcasing some of the jobs on Berea's campus. After that is a special section for the Pre-School children. The Track team won the KIAC title again. Among the Foundation Seniors is international student Nia Collis from Athens, Greece. The additions to the Foundation School groups are the Ungraded Department and the Business Club.
